Finale in D Minor

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Ely Cathedral on tour with St. Giles Pontefract. While I was there, I had the immense pleasure of playing their wonderful organ. Here is a live recording of me playing the voluntary. It was a really extraordinary feeling to have such power under my hands (and feet).

Naturally, there are mistakes, but I am happy with the outcome given the fact that I had one shot, and I was playing in an incredibly imposing building!

Eric Harding Thiman, born in Ashford, Kent, was a largely self-taught composer and organist. Few composers can have had so many compositions published in their lifetime: Thiman’s list of published works numbered about 1,300, including a number of lighter songs published under the name Eric Harding.
